The Midwife Clinics are a coordinated care system for our maternity patients that involve the delivering doctors and the hospital midwives. This unique initiative involves midwives actively participating in ante-natal care, at the surgery, as well as labour and post-natal care in the hospital. We believe that this is an important programme as it allows for more consistent care to our maternity patients. Seeing a midwife prior to labour can improve communication and establish a positive relationship with these important members of the maternity team.
This process involves midwives seeing patients for scheduled visits usually 2 to 3 times during the pregnancy and 3 weeks after delivery. Feedback from previous patients is very positive and strongly endorsed by the doctors involved with maternity care.
Midwife clinics are held Thursday mornings at GP28. To book an appointment, please contact our reception staff.
