As part of the hospital based services at Collie Hospital, CRVMC does offer an anaesthetic service. Dr Peter Wutchak and Dr Adrian Lee are WA trained GP anaesthetists who provide a range of anaesthetic techniques depending on the surgical requirements. Both doctors are credentialed to perform epidural blocks for women in labour or requiring a caesarean section. In addition there is also a therapeutic epidural option available for suitable patients with chronic back pain.

All patients requiring elective surgery are required to make a pre-anaesthetic check appointment with Dr Wutchak or Dr Adrian Lee. At this appointment, the anaesthetic risk will be evaluated and discussion regarding the technique planned including risks or complications. Patients are requested to provide all important medical information including a list of all medication, allergies and relevant past medical history including previous anaesthetic complications.
